Marvin,

You likely have more issues than just the boot.ini being corrupted. If you can, slave that hard drive to another system and scan it for malware. You can also copy all the data off of it while it is in the other system. Once all the data is off of it I would recommend a fresh install.

when i tried to rebuild the ini it gave me an error of failed may be caused by a corrupt file system use chkdsk which i did several times but no fix...doing chkdsk /p showed one or more files bad...any suggestions? I have a constant rebooting prob when it gets almost to the load screen...safe boot gives me a blue screen as well....

I completely agree. IE only has market share because they are installed with the OS. I only use it where I have to. It amazes me that some internet apps still require IE to get the full experience.

Why is it that Microsoft would like to think that they have developed all these cool new features in a web browser when Firefox and Chrome already have the neatest features. Microsoft sucks goat testes.

Hi Dave,

there were two or three version of PRTG that did not properly remove the service. We are sorry for the trouble.

Another option would have been to upgrade to the latest version and then deinstall PRTG. The current installer removes the service properly.
