Who is a failure?

Everything that I had read said that Google had adjusted their algorithms to combat link bombs, also known as Google bombs. Turns out this may, or may not be the case.

Head on over to Google and search for the term “who is a failure?“. The #1 result should look like the photo below.

This story originally broke back in February. Perhaps this isn’t a true Google Bomb, and is just an unfortunate coincidence for Mr. Bush.

Wayback Machine Fun…

I stumbled upon the Internet Wayback Machine today. It was great fun looking back a the early days of the web. Google, MSN, NBC, CBC have all come a long way since the static web pages that we were treated to in the late 90′s.

MSN then:

And Now

Do they want to know the truth?

Or is the better question, can they handle the truth? Either way residents of our little town need to let it be known that things are not o.k. I urge everyone to take this survey, and give the town the straight dope.

Here is a short clip for your viewing pleasure, and yes he is from town.

Updates, Updates, Updates…

At 20 Weeks

It has been a long time since I've been able to get myself together to post something of worth here.  Life has been very busy, yet at the same time nothing much of note has happened, tech wise at least.  The baby continues to grow inside mommy, the babies room has been finished and a major overhaul to the basement and driveway has taken place.  So you can see why I have had little time for a tech blog. Baby, Baby…

Just a short note before I head off to play in our annual softball tournament.  The 20 week doctors visit went well, but the radiologists report was not ready due to the return visit on Thursday.  So no official news on what was seen, although Kris's doctor took a quick look at the unofficial report and everything looked good.  We will find out more next month.  Kris's mom came in on the train on Thursday so she also attended the appointment and got to hear baby's heart beat.  We also attended our 1st prenatal class on Thursday, it runs twice a week for most of the rest of August.

It’s a…well…an IT!

Yup, thats right.  You heard me clearly, I'm going to be daddy sometime near Xmas (and I guess technically Kris is going to be a mommy).  Kris had her 1st ultrasound yesterday and so far everything looks peachy keen.  I'll have a scan of the 1st photo of the lil bug up later today.  I finally get to open that package of Dominican cigars I bought years ago and that have been sitting in my moms freezer.  They are going to be horrible, but hey, its tradition!

30 years and counting

Today I am 30.  People have been asking if I feel any older, and to be honest, today I don't.  September 5, 2004 I felt older, and again on Tuesday March 20, 2007.  September 5th was the day my life and the lives of those around me changed forever.  It was the day my parents were hit by a driver who did not stop for a stop sign.  My dad was killed instantly and my mom was permanently injured.  March 20th was the day that the criminal charges against the driver went to court and we finally got a verdict. The Pinetree Line

I was checking out the top search results on Google for "Sioux Lookout" when I came across a site dedicated to the old Pinetree Line.  It was a series of radar sites setup in the early 50's by the US Airforce and later taken over by the Canadian Armed Forces.  It contains a number of old photos from the base and of the area around Sioux Lookout.  Check it out if you are interested in history or are from the area.
